A hanger column connects to the underside of a structural steel beam via a plate welded or integrated at the column top and bolted to the beam flange. Four seven-eighths-inch diameter bolts fasten the connection at a workable gauge. A vertical stiffener plate is positioned within the steel beam web directly above the column to transfer the hanger load. A level elevation marker indicates the structural height at fourteen feet zero inches.
