A 4-inch standard pipe brace connects to an existing concrete wall using a 3/4-inch by 10-1/2-inch long plate welded to the pipe and secured with a through-bolt assembly. The through-bolt ties into a galvanized 3/4-inch by 4-1/2-inch by 0'-10-1/2-inch plate on the opposite face of the wall, which includes two welded threaded studs of 3/4-inch diameter at 7-1/2 inches center-to-center. A 1/4-inch fillet weld connects the upper support bracket to the structural element above, maintaining a 1/2-inch minimum clearance. The assembly is detailed with a 12-inch vertical dimension between connection points.
