A bracing wire or metal chain is attached to a bare metal roof deck sized per plan. The connection utilizes a 3 inch by 4 inch by 12 gauge minimum bent steel plate bent to align with the wire, fastened to the roof deck with two number 10 sheet metal screws. The bracing wire is looped through a hole in the steel strap with a minimum of four tight turns in 1 and 1/2 inches, or a metal chain is attached to the steel strap using an oval threaded connector with a standard opening.
