A W24 cantilever beam frames into a W24 or W27 column with an extended shear plate connection. A 1-inch by 16-inch by 16-inch cap plate is welded to the column top using 5/16-inch fillet welds and secured to the cantilever beam flange with four 3/4-inch diameter A325 bolts. Three-eighths-inch web stiffeners are aligned with the column flange and welded with typical 3/16-inch fillet welds.
