Steel floor beams connect to a structural steel column flange using a bolted single-plate shear tab welded to the column. The shear tab thickness is sized as the beam web plus one-quarter inch, with bolt sizing and quantities determined per notes. Continuity plates are provided at the top and bottom column flanges, using the larger thickness of the connecting beam flanges. Additional rows of bolts are included as required, with minimum edge distances and spacings maintained.
