A concrete footing rests on a crushed rock leveling course as required in the geotechnical report and compacted to 100 percent plus or minus 5 percent of standard proctor maximum density per ASTM D1557. Reinforcing steel within the footing maintains a typical 3-inch clearance from the bottom and side surfaces. Footing dimensions and reinforcing are sized per schedule.
