Continuous or cantilevered wide-flange beams frame into a hollow structural section column top plate with a width matching the beam flange. A half-inch column top plate is welded to the HSS column with a five-sixteenth inch fillet weld. Three-quarter inch diameter A325 bolts connect the beam flanges to the top plate at standard gauge. Three-eighth inch full-depth stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column web aligned with the beam flanges.
