Framing around a small opening adjacent to a structural steel column uses typical L3x3x1/4 angles with coped horizontal legs. The opening is framed with beams sized per plan and bounded by steel angles maintaining a maximum one-foot two-inch clearance. Sheet metal screws are omitted at the beam per sheet S-610.
