Structural framing for a roof opening located between open web steel joists or steel beams as sized per plans. The framing consists of an angle frame made from L5x3x1/4 angles, with a six-inch leg option and an alternative Option B connection detail. Three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the angle framing components typically throughout the assembly. The vertical leg of the angle is trimmed at the joist interface. Roof decking welds directly to the supporting angle framing, and additional notes reference smaller penetrations, extra web members for openings six feet and larger, and mechanical unit support frames.
