A steel beam frames into a column with a complete-joint-penetration groove weld at the flange to a continuous plate. A top continuous plate is installed per detail 8/S5-01. A 3/4 inch thick plate is provided where no continuity plate is required. A W8x10 closure angle is attached at the slab edge with a two-inch projection. Fillet welds of 1/4 inch and 5/16 inch sizes secure the framing connections.
