A seven-eighths-inch thick cap plate caps the structural steel column and supports a centered davit socket pedestal. Beams frame into the column via shear tabs, with sizes sized per plan. One-half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column web, omitted where shear tabs occur.
