The stair stringer bears onto a structural angle fastened to a thickened concrete slab-on-grade footing. An L3x3x1/4 structural steel angle, four inches long, is anchored to the concrete using a three-quarter-inch-diameter expansion bolt set into a two-inch long-slotted hole. The stair stringer connects to the angle via a quarter-inch fillet weld. The concrete foundation features a thickened slab footing reinforced with two continuous number four rebar bars, supporting a standard concrete slab-on-grade.
