An expansion joint occurs within Wall 1 of a cast-in-place concrete U-section for the north access ramp. The reinforced concrete wall assembly includes continuous longitudinal and transverse reinforcing steel dowels running parallel to the formed concrete faces. The expansion joint accommodates thermal and structural movement between the intersecting wall segments. The concrete profile transitions from the vertical wall section up into the angled ramp configuration.
