An HSS post connects to the underside of a wide flange column flange using double angles sized 6x4x3/8 with vertical long slotted holes on both sides. The angles fasten to the post with 3/4-inch diameter machine bolts left hand-tightened. The angles weld to the column flange with quarter-inch fillet welds top and bottom. A wide flange beam supports a metal deck with fill per plan at the top of the column.
