A wide-flange supported beam connects to a continuous supporting beam web using a shear plate and bolts sized per schedule. The supported beam flange is coped as required with a maximum three-inch length and three-quarter-inch clearance from the support web. The shear plate extends with vertical dimensions including one-and-one-half-inch edge distances and a three-inch typical bolt spacing. The shear plate extends full depth or includes a beam brace where noted on plans. Welds are specified as indicated by welding symbols referenced to sheet details.
