A wide flange beam frames into a wide flange column flange using a welded-bolted connection with a one-half inch cap plate at the top of the column. The beam web connects via a plate secured with one-inch diameter bolts spaced at one and three-quarter inches typically with a two-inch pitch. Fillet welds of five-sixteenths inch size are specified where applicable. Clearances and edge distances are maintained at a maximum of one-half inch and a minimum of two and one-half inches.
