A steel tierod connects to a steel soldier pile through a bearing plate with a matching tension nut, hex nut, and washer. The soldier pile is reinforced with front and back flange cover plates welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds and web stiffeners joined with quarter-inch fillet welds. A PVC sleeve surrounds the tierod bar passing behind the pile flange. Weld locations are detailed per related structural sheets.
