The stair stringer connects to a concrete footing using an interior 4-inch by 4-inch by 1/4-inch angle, measuring 0'-8" long and secured with two 3/4-inch diameter anchor bolts or expansion bolts spaced at 5 inches on center. A 3/8-inch thick closure plate is welded to the assembly with 3/16-inch fillet welds. The concrete footing is reinforced with two continuous number 5 rebars and requires 3 inches of clear cover.
