Reinforced concrete stepped footing detail for steep slope conditions requiring continuous top and bottom reinforcement matching the primary footing size and quantity with a minimum of two bars. The stepped transition incorporates transverse bars where required at a maximum spacing of eighteen inches and an additional number four nose bar at each internal corner step. Footing depth and stepping dimensions are proportioned with depth dimensions designated as D and spacing increments as S and two times S. A clear cover of two and fifteen-sixteenths inches is maintained for the sloping step reinforcement.
