A cross-laminated timber deck bears against a hollow structural section column sized per plan. A four-times timber nailer attaches to the top of the lower HSS member using three-quarter-inch diameter countersunk welded threaded studs spaced at twelve inches on center staggered, shaped to three inches minimum to achieve steel tolerance. A splice plate as scheduled connects at the intersection, accompanied by a lateral tie plate per plan. Two rows of one-quarter-inch diameter by six and one-quarter-inch MTC assembly ECO screws fasten at four inches on center staggered.
