A metal deck spans perpendicular across a wide-flange steel beam with a three-foot span and a maximum three-foot-three-inch overhang. A bent quarter-inch ASTM A36 steel plate forms the edge, secured with three-sixteenths fillet welds at twelve inches on center at each low flute of the deck. A minimum nineteen-gauge deck is used for large deck overhangs. Number four reinforcing bars are placed at twelve inches on center centered on the low flute.
