Galvanized steel angles, including L5x3x5/16 long-leg-vertical, L4x4x5/16, L4x4x3/8, and L3x3x1/4 profiles, form the perimeter of a concrete pit. The angles are fabricated as a single shop-welded and galvanized assembly, with specific angles shortened by 3/4 inch to accommodate concrete chamfers. The edge angles are fastened to the formwork using 1/4 inch diameter fiberglass bolts spaced at 24 inches on center through 3/8 inch diameter holes. Headed studs measuring 1/2 inch diameter by 4 1/2 inches long are welded to the angles at 12 inches on center, with the first and last studs positioned 3 inches from the angle ends. A break angle is provided at the back of the panel, sloped down by 1/2 inch to manage drainage.
