An embed plate measuring three-eighths by fourteen by eighteen inches is cast into the post-tensioned concrete slab or beam with four three-quarter-inch diameter by four-inch headed studs. Structural steel angles measuring L4x3x5/16 long leg vertical by one foot zero inches each side connect the masonry bond beam to the overhead embed. A typical top-of-wall gap is maintained, and three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the connection. At the contractor's option, this detail can be used at mild reinforced concrete slabs or beams.
