A structural steel column rests on a steel base plate set over one and a half inches of non-shrink grout atop a concrete foundation. Anchor bolts embedded in the foundation secure the base plate connection. A concrete stem wall extends upward to receive the exterior slab on grade and adjacent slab pour-back. Continuous stem wall reinforcement is provided with three inches minimum concrete cover down to the minimum frost depth.
