Vertical metal stud framing connects to a slotted track secured to the overhead structure with an approved fastener. Number 8 sheet metal screws fasten each side of the vertical studs through the slotted track flanges. The slotted track accommodates vertical deflection of the primary structure while maintaining lateral stability for the wall framing.
