The corner connection joins two steel beams per plan at a mitered miter joint. The assembly features partial-joint-penetration welds at the web, top flange, and bottom flange, supplemented by a one-quarter inch fillet weld with a field weld flag symbol. Welds are ground smooth as required per structural engineering drawings. Detail A shows the configuration at a wide flange beam, while Detail B shows the configuration at a steel channel, which is similar at hollow structural section beams and angles.
