An HSS guiderail support bears on a sixteen-inch by eight-and-a-half-inch by half-inch base plate positioned atop an elevator pit wall and apron level slab. The base plate is secured with four three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 55 cast-in-place anchors with eight-inch minimum embedment into the concrete wall. A quarter-inch partial joint penetration weld is specified on three sides of the connection, with a quarter-inch fillet weld indicated typically. The top of the slab is located per plan.
