An HSS post connects to a wide flange beam using a 1/2-inch base plate welded with a 3/16-inch fillet weld unless otherwise noted. Four 7/8-inch diameter bolts secure the connection with a gauge per AISC standards. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are welded to both sides of the web. Beam elevation and slope are sized per the framing plan.
