A reinforced concrete pedestal supports a steel column base plate and anchor bolts as specified on sheet S3.2.1. The pedestal reinforcement consists of sixteen number 9 vertical bars enclosed by number 4 ties spaced at 5 inches on center. Three additional ties are provided within the top 8 inches of the column pedestal.
