Three-eighths-inch-thick stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web, secured with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld typically at the stiffener plates. A wide-flange blocking beam connects to the main structural member with high-strength bolts. Additional framing information is referenced on sheet 5/S5.21.
