Metal deck openings are framed with an angle sized at L3x3x3/16 with a length equal to the opening width plus three feet, secured with a three-sixteenths inch typical weld. A one-eighth inch single spot weld is placed in each flute as detailed. Metal deck manufacturer provides the closure. Openings smaller than six by six inches require no framing, while those exceeding sixteen inches or seventy-five pounds require special engineering reference. Adjacent openings maintain a twenty-inch minimum clearance.
