Out-of-plane support for parapet wall framing bearing on a cross-laminated timber roof. A sixteen-gauge hat channel is secured with number ten self-tapping sheet metal screws at twelve inches on center to each flange, spanning the non-structural wall cladding. A sixteen-gauge plate measuring three by five inches is fillet welded along all edges at the centerline of the vertical leg to the structural support. Behind architectural cladding, the angle is omitted and the sill track is framed directly to the deck. Four-inch nested track and studs align with the face of the hollow structural section column to receive the header, utilizing number fourteen Teks screws.
