An epoxy dowel embed schedule defines the minimum embedment lengths for reinforcing bar sizes ranging from number 4 through number 8 into existing concrete. A new dowel is installed into an existing concrete wall or footing, matching the wall and footing reinforcing. The drilled hole diameter equals the bar diameter plus one-eighth inch, cleaned with oil-free compressed air prior to epoxy installation per manufacturer recommendations. General structural notes govern bar lap requirements and accepted epoxy types.
