A collector beam connects to a hollow structural section steel column using a one-half-inch through-plate fastened with ten A325N bolts at each beam. The connection utilizes quarter-inch fillet welds and maintains a one-inch clearance from the column centerline. The structural steel column remains continuous where it occurs, aligned with the beam centerline.
