A structural steel beam supports a stair hanger provided by the stair contractor with an eccentric load path. A minimum one-quarter-inch thick stiffener plate is welded to the beam web to handle local stresses. A transverse angle with a minimum length of sixteen inches and minimum size of L3x3x1/4 is anchored to the underside of the floor deck. A kicker assembly is provided by the stair contractor when the eccentricity exceeds one inch, with locations coordinated across all trades.
