An existing HSS12x12 brace connects with three-quarter-inch top and bottom plates and three-quarter-inch gusset plates framing into a concrete-encased structural steel column along gridline C-9. Minimum clearances of two inches and three inches are maintained around the connection plates, with a minimum one-foot dimension indicated for the gusset assembly.
