This structural connection detail features intersecting braces tied together with a one-half inch thick A572 Grade 50 gusset plate. The braces are fastened using three-quarter inch diameter A307 bolts and detailed with a slot width one-eighth inch maximum wider than the gusset plate thickness. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size are specified typically at the connection joints, maintaining a one inch typical clearance from ends. Centerlines are established for alignment across the intersecting members.
