A continuous closure plate or hot-rolled angle, minimum 18-gauge, is positioned at the metal deck edge along the building perimeter or opening with a 45-degree edge orientation and a 1/2-inch overhang. The continuous closure plate requires a maximum 4-inch dimension (SAD) and is attached with number 8 sheet metal screws spaced at 12 inches on center. The assembly spans a minimum of two flutes with a maximum 2-inch distance from the closure plate to the deck edge, and 4 inches at perpendicular deck conditions.
