Fillet welds of 3/16-inch size are specified typically at the angle connections. The vertical leg of the angle is trimmed at the joist, and roof decks are welded to the angle framing. Additional notes reference requirements for smaller openings under 12 inches, extra web members for openings 6 feet and larger, and mechanical unit support framing.
