A bridge connection frames a CC5 deck with a C9x13.4 channel edge member into an existing CC2 steel beam and concrete deck. The channel features an L8x4x1/2 angle and connects using half-inch diameter Hilti Kwik Bolt TZ2 anchors spaced at twelve inches on center into the existing concrete deck. An existing CC2 steel beam is reinforced with typical three-eighths inch stiffener plates welded with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds. Double angles designated as 2L3x3x1/4 spaced at twenty-four inches on center provide additional framing support. Fillet welds of three-sixteenths inch are specified throughout the connection assembly.
