A cantilever beam connects to an adjacent back span beam utilizing complete joint penetration welds on both the top and bottom flanges. The beam webs are secured with connection plates and bolts typical on both sides. Notes specify that the cantilever beam size must match the adjacent back span beam size unless otherwise noted, cantilevers must be shored as required, and backer bars must be removed where exposed to view.
