Concrete slabs and walls feature embedded sleeves or conduit penetrations dimensioned by thickness and diameter. Maximum sleeve diameter 'D' is limited to one-third of the structural thickness 'T' or two inches, whichever is smaller. Center-to-center spacing between sleeves requires a minimum clearance of three times the diameter 'D' or four inches. Areas where clear distance between sleeves is impossible are treated as structural openings per the associated reinforcing detail.
