A concrete elevator pit sump features a blockout for the shaft. The sump perimeter contains number four bars spaced at fourteen inches on center, with three number four bars provided each way at the base. A four-inch polyvinyl chloride waterstop with a welded joint sits at the construction joint. The sump rim incorporates two-by-two-by-one-quarter-inch steel angles anchored by two one-half-inch diameter expansion anchors on each of the four sides, embedded three and one-half inches deep. Verify sump size and location with the elevator supplier.
