Cold-formed steel framing at a soffit opening features 362S162-33 jambs and 362T125-33 track headers with an opening width of four feet maximum. Angle clips measuring 1-1/2 by 1-1/2 by 54-mil by stud depth minus 1/2 inch connect the horizontal track to the jambs with three number 8 screws on each leg. A 362S162-33 strongback runs below the opening, fastened with two number 8 screws to each stud and three number 8 screws at ends to the jambs. A drawing note explicitly directs to not locate kickers below the opening.
