A wide-flange column is supported on a base plate resting on a two-inch non-shrink grout layer above the top of a reinforced concrete pile cap. A gusset plate connects a buckling-restrained brace to the column flange and base plate, stabilized by vertical stiffener plates matching the gusset thickness and weld sizes. Heavy hex nuts secure anchor bolts tied to an embed plate at the top of the pile cap and a bottom plate aligning with the underside of the concrete element. The pile cap and grade beam incorporate continuous reinforcing steel, with an over pour applied as required to maintain three inches of minimum concrete cover.
