A wood nailer matches the steel beam flange width and secures to the structural steel using seven-eighths inch diameter welded threaded rods spaced at sixteen inches on center staggered with a maximum three-quarter inch countersink. One rod is placed a maximum of nine inches from each end of the nailer and from each splice. Sub-purlins frame into the assembly per the structural plan. The steel beam web accommodates five-inch diameter maximum holes for pipes spaced at ten feet on center minimum as required by approved sprinkler drawings.
