A concrete on steel deck slab features a three-foot-wide knockout panel framed with an L4x3x5/16 angle and a bent quarter-inch plate welded to the structural steel channel. The assembly includes number four continuous reinforcing bars and number four bars at six inches on center at the top of the slab. Shear transfer is provided by one-half-inch diameter by four-inch-long studs spaced at six inches on center. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch and three-sixteenth-inch sizes secure the steel components.
