A metal deck bears across a W10 steel beam with a channel framing element positioned below, maintaining a minimum two-inch and maximum six-inch overhang. Two number twelve self-drilling screw fasteners are provided in each deck rib in lieu of welds. A minimum of three deck flutes are maintained on each side of the opening. The channel framing is not required when located within one foot six inches of an adjacent beam.
