A wide-flange beam frames into a girder web utilizing connection plates sized per schedule on both sides. The connection plates are bolted with high-strength bolts placed along the centerline per schedule, maintaining a two-and-a-half-inch distance from the centerline and standard minimum and maximum clearances. Stiffener plates feature clipped corners to fit the column or girder web k-dimension, leaving the designated k-zone unwelded. Connection plates are extended at braced frame or moment frame girder locations per the structural design.
