A structural steel connection detail showing a supported beam framing into a supporting member web via a bolted shear tab. The supported beam top flange is coped to clear the supporting member flange, with dimensions for the cope and bolt spacing indicated. Where the depth difference D is less than or equal to six inches, a three-sixteenths-inch full-height stiffener plate is provided on one side of the supporting web. An additional cope is specified if the intersecting beams are of the same depth. Number of bolts and plate thickness are sized per the structural schedule.
